Trends come and trends go whether it’s music, film, art, literature, or fashion. The fluidity of what’s popular (this week) reflects the flea-like attention span of most people and Madison Avenue’s determination to keep us needlessly consuming their products. Out with the old and in with the new so fast your head spins.

However, some trends help define their era. Ridiculous yet memorable hair-dos are a prime example. When you think massive poodle perm you're automatically transported back to the 1980s, right? Our collective fashion faux pas are more enduring. Probably because they are also hilarious.

It’s fascinating to take a look back at some of the goofiest hair trends we thought were tres chic at the time. Well, it’s fascinating for me, anyway. I hope it’s fascinating for you too because that’s today’s pointless fuckery, folks.

Come, and let’s laugh at our past folly. I guarantee it’s more fun than watching the news.
