In This Little Box

Today at 11:30 a.m., my mail carrier/friend delivered this little box containing the cremated remains of the man I married at 21 and had three kids with by 25. My only husband. I’m glad it wasn’t some anonymous, neutral face handing me that package. Instead, her face showed genuine caring, concern, and empathy.
