Boy, it’s been a rollercoaster ride for Elvis fans the past year or so, from the enormous success of the biopic “Elvis,” and the loss of The King’s only child, Lisa Marie, on January 12, 2023. Lisa was gone far too soon, just like most of her other relatives laid to rest in the Meditation Garden at Graceland.

Despite the enormity of Lisa’s passing, there has been a strange but welcome phenomenon. In the wake of Austin Butler’s amazing portrayal of Elvis, people born decades after Elvis died are discovering his music and getting sucked in by his unparalleled charisma.

And it’s awesome on so many levels.

Confession time. I enjoy Tik Tok. I’m only active on the platform as a viewer and not a creator, which makes me enjoy it even more.

Most of the time.

Lately, I’ve seen an endless parade of twenty-somethings dressing as they imagine we did in the 70s and 80s. At least 75% of the time they totally miss the mark, and that’s a generous estimate. These Tik Tok kids cap-cut themselves wearing hilariously ridiculous…
