Grab your hanky, fainting couch, and unhealthy coping mechanisms

Fucked around, Found out.

Step right up, step right up! If you’ve been the victim of unrequited or lost love, you may be entitled to compensation.

What sort of compensation, you ask?

These songs. These songs are your compensation. From every genre and every era. Heartbreak has no boundaries.

Having your heart broken is never a pleasant experience, but it’s somehow comforting to know that almost everyone else has gone through the same hell you have. The Fates aren’t picking on you. They hate us all equally. Even rock stars.

And look at us — we’re still here, living, breathing and getting on with it. It’s better than popping your eyes out with a melon baller or getting thee to a nunnery, right?

Without further ado, here are the ten saddest songs off the top of my head, today. Tomorrow my list could be completely different.

So please don’t get miffed because Justin Jason Le Derp and the Fartknockers didn’t make the cut. And I know I omitted everyone’s beloved generic, monotonous bleat from the classic rock band Old Enough To Know Better. I mean, their first gig was opening for The Doomed Christian Experience at the Roman Coliseum. Time to pack it in.

Anyway

Are we all good with that?

Right.

Now settle down, settle in, and let’s all get morose together. Hoo-ray!

Nobody Knows It But Me

The Tony Rich Project

The nights are lonely the days are so sad and
I just keep thinking about the love that we had
And I’m missing you
And nobody knows it but me

This simple, heartfelt ballad can be a literal gut punch. Oy.

Many of us try to hide the fact that our heart has been run over more times then a squirrel…
